For those that are not aware, here are a few new drivings laws for 2008 . . . Most notable, the one which will affect the most of us, is the hands-free requirement for cell phones, which is in effect July 1, 2008.

For those of you, whom are under the age of 18, cell phone is prohibited in any form.

Good lookin out Andy... I thought the Cell Phone Law was in effect as of Jan 1st

Quote:
AB 118, authored by Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-Los Angeles, increases the annual vehicle registration fee and the smog impact fee in order to provide revenue for research and development of alternative fuels.

Consumers can expect to pay from $3 to $11 more when registering their vehicles. This law is in effect from July 2008 through 2016.
Thats OUTRAGEOUS! that means I have to cut back to cuponoodles for a while

The Law......?
They don't need to raise the license fees! After July 1st they'll have tons of
revenue from the citizens that will continue to use their hand held cells...

Thanks Andy for the info.

I think Kris is right, regardless if you have a handsfree device or not, some people get so caught up on the actual conversation, they just don't pay attention anyways.

Yes, they do. The number of people doing so would probably be quite shocking. Here's an account of an accident.
