some guy on craigslist was offering that service, but it might be cheaper to just buy a used one since they go for only 100 bucks

Buy a used one....last one I got was from Kris I believe! The services for repairs usually require you to send your busted one in and wait a week or 2 until it gets back....and they are usually $200-$300 a pop!

I had the same problem and I think the dealer was going to try and charge me 175 when i went to get mine replaced under warranty. Since I had a carputer they said, it may be effecting the headunit and that they'll charge me instead replacing it under warranty. But it worked out and I got it replaced for free.

Radio repair
Deff better to find a used one,(e-bay), the factory charges us $150-250 to repair, and even the other companies; about the same, however if we can help, do not hesitate to call us or e-mail!

i do extended service contract claims and deal with shops usually charging 350 exchange that come with 1 yr warranty. used one off someone else may come with 30 day warranty and about 100-200 bucks but if it goes out in 2 months, you're out that money. they go out so often, you might want to use that money towards a afmkt head unit and get a service protection plan.
