You would have to bake the lights, take them apart, remove the bezels and turn signal housing, then dremel out the orange. From there, you can either find a projector to replace the orange cover or fashion one out of something like a flouresent fixture cover.

It would be alot easier to just find a set of used 06s and swap them out.

I just did this yester day.

TOOLS NEEDED
:gloves of some sort to prevent burns to your hands
:flat head screw driver
:High temp paint I used dupli-color flat black
:high temp black silicone
All products are found at AUTO ZONE cost is about 13$

DISCLAIMER: do this at your own risk I am not responsible for any mess ups or misfortune but this is a real easy process dont be afraid.
all i did was take out the headlight remove all bulbs and three screws around the frame and that 1 rubber gromet you can leave the balast on the the headlight. Pop it in the oven do NOT I REPEAT DO NOT preheat the oven turn oven on to 220 leave it in for 8 min pull it out when done you will need gloves to do so. Use a flat head screw driver start at the top were the point is and pry apart depending on how soft the glue is you might need to leave in the oven longer but try 8 min . Make sure all tabs are poped out to prevent breaking them as you pry the light open you will have to do so as you open once you have pull the light apart you will have to unscrew 3 or 4 more screw pull out the reflective side and the clear strip you will also have to take out your turn signal paint what you want painted I used dupli color high tem flat black spray the parts you want sprayed at least 2 times remember you cannot paint the reflective part on the main housing but you can paint all the reflective parts on the glass side its really up to you. Once it has dryed put it back together place back in the oven make sure the oven is cool and repeat the process. you should add a rim of high temp black silicone around the seal let dry over night to prevent the possibility of any moisture getting into your headlight dont be scared its only 600$ for a new set lol btw gl

Its not so exclusive anymore John with half the members of the GM Garage have them done lol

Yeah, its time consuming but worth it. Blacked out headlights > overlays/painted IMO

Only overlays I would consider are the rear light overlays and the corner light overlays. As for the front, painting is the best way to go...Did mine in gloss black and left the projector shroud chrome. Time consuming but definitely worth it.
