Wes,

If you were to post a one-time event, I would be happy to sticky it for you.

Weekends work best for me. As far as roads, anything that isn't too far away would work.

I'd be down as well. Pat, Mike, and I have made similar runs in the last few months with good turn out and success. I'd say the guys who frequent our Sac area meets are all very respectful and I doubt we'd have too much of a problem with speed demons ruining everyones fun. In the end we'd have to keep a small inner circle who doesn't feel bad telling someone they will not be invited back if things get out of control. That being said I think Andy is right, a smaller group is obviously preferred due to logistics, however if it is set up simply as a set group of rest stops the roads we are talking about do not require much if any directional skills so it would be hard to get lost.

During the school year, Weekends are best for me but it just depends on my school/performance schedule. Over the summer I should be free almost any day. I'm planning a lazy summer

Sometimes ppl’s ego get ahead of their driving abilities, and that’s when the mishap happens. So we tend not use word like “fearless” when we set up a drive, I don’t even like to use the word “run“. Me and Andy arent out to ruin you or anyone’s “fun” drive, but there are always a concern with everyone’s safety when you go on a group drives.

We arent saying to excluding or even limiting amount of ppl attending, but do have a plan if you have larger turn out than expected. Wes have been to the last year’s Monterey drive with us, he can tell you the difference of driving in a large group (on the way down) and in a smaller group (on the way back), the bigger it is? The slower it gets, few of whom have been on the pre/dry runs with us can also attest to it.

Hey guys Im down for a ride.Im new to the G35 group thing. I used to ride all those areas on my street bike all the time. If you want to know some good roads with little traffic let me know. Even on weekends ive found roads up there with little traffic.

I'd suggest if the group gets above 7 for a particular run, we have two "captains" so to speak, that way you effectively split into two groups. one group can cruise and one can push hard-ish. that way, people can go closer to their own pace.

Edit: as for a day, I'd presume that most everyone will be more open for a weekend day. I'll throw out the third Saturday of every month, flexible of course. maybe a run start time of 10am? enough time for people to get up, moving, and food in their belly.

I think John's idea of splitting into two groups if there are more than seven sounds like a great plan, and the 10:00 am time is great for me.

I also agree w/ John. If there is a turn out of more then 7, we should have 2 groups.

For example, I have been street racing for years and when the cops show up and there is 300+ cars, you cannot have fear and you react quick, so I use the same principle here man. I agree with Andy, you cannot have inexperienced drivers with speed demons. I think we should have some solid rules set and just like Wes said, we cannot draw too much attention to ourselves. With that being said, people should really know their car before even thinking about going for a run.

Ok then, enjoy the drives!

The basic point is to go out and have a fun drive no matter what your driving level. The key is to not get stupid and draw attention to the group. You have to be safe on the roads and respect everyone that is on the road. It is not a race, but more of a fun group event to get to know your fellow enthusist.

That said I am game for going on a a drive or two but typically only on weekends. Whoever is organizing the event I think it needs to be expressed that all drivers need to maintain control of their vehicles and not be "showing off" diring the drive or at the meeting/staging places. A drive like this will be more fun if everyone stays in control. Andy and Shane have done a great job in organizing the drives in the bay area and each has been without any major incident, we would be wise to take their advice on topic. Just my 2 cents.

If you guys are planning a road rally/race then post pics when you get back, as that is not really what I am interested in.
