on the right one, it looks like there is some lighter black in front of the projector area, but it only looks like that in the pic due to the lighting.

next up - clear lens swap

^^ i've been wanting to do the lens swap for the longest time, and finally decided it's time. but your nice blacked out lights did inspire me to paint the housings while i have the headlights apart.

i ended up going with a clear lens that was sourced by IvoryGT, it is supposed to be slightly larger than the TSX, and fit exactly for our projectors. however, the shield mod for this lens is different than for the TSX lens though due to the different focal lengths. Did you pick up a TSX lens for your swap?

I'm trying a clear lens from theretrofitsouce.com. It's supposed to be made for the g35 projector. I'm curious to see how it works. Are you planning to remove the glare guard in the projector?

I've got a small 12v battery, extra ballasts and connector so I can test the lights away from the car. That could be helpful.

I wasn't planning on removing the glare guard, only because i don't have the proper tools required to do it cleanly. if you have an idea of how to do it, let me know.

that will definitely be helpful, a lot easier than trying to test it on the car. let me know when you have some time next week. i should be available monday and tuesday night, and wed-thurs all day.

did you and John end up painting his headlights/grill?

Yeah . I did John's headlights yesterday while he detailed my car. I think they came out great. Looks mean as hell now.

I'll let you know about a time later this week that we could meet.

Thanks Pat. I wish I could have done a little better, but it was my first time and I am very happy that I didn't mess anything up . That would of been crazy to drive to a place called "Where Cows Out Number People" , but I would of done it if need be because my G is my only car and tomorrow I have a business meeting in Concord. How far are you with your lights Pat?
