used 3 off camera flashes triggered with pocket wizards. Since my car was so dark, had to flood my car with light.

Cool, no wonder the image has good light source at different places. Good work!

My latest photoshoot.. found the hard way that shooting at mid day is not a good idea, esp for dark car. Its not until I downloded the images in my laptop that I realized how bad it was. Will try other time of the day later or experiment with different camera setting. Anyone has any good tip on taking pics of dark car in daytime situation?

Harsh daytime lighting is your enemy. It brings out all the paint imperfections (haze, scratches, swirls, everything). If you shoot with the sun behind you you'll get all of that. If you shoot with the sun behind a dark car you'll blow out the background completely.

If you want to shoot mid-day i suggest moving it to somewhere with lots of shade. Otherwise, it's best to stick to sunrise and sunset

Yeah, magic hour. Usually up to a few hours after sunrise and a few before sunset is your best bet. That's when my friend and I usually try to film to not have anything over exposed.

Thanks Gene and Mike. I guess there is no way around shooting in broad daylight then.
