I have fun post processing my shots with Photomatix Pro, Camera Raw, and Photoshop. The basic idea is to correct one part of the photo at a time, building it up to something that looks decent. Here's an example.

It's like night and day and only takes about 45 minutes to do! Imagine what it would look like if I took good shots to begin with.
