Hey guys. There is a guy in Great Mall in Milpitas that will cut a spare key and give you the fob along with all the programming for $150. Hope this helps whoever needs a spare key & doesn't wanna pay $289+ that the dealer charges.

 

Is it legit? I thought that only the dealer could cut those keys with the "keyless start/remote" programming because they were the only ones with the necessary software & equipment to match the engine code to the key.

 

Is the key fob identical to the one you received from the dealership?

I wouldn't mind saving some cash if it's all legit.

Yeah everything is legit. I was gonna do it, but decided that I have no need cuz I barely drive my car now & there is always AAA. I have a buddy who just bought a G and he went to this guy. What he does, is he cuts it & comes out to your car & programs everything. The key fob is the original if I am not mistaken. I will find out for sure later on today.
