Any Suggestions for Beaters?

Hey... so my gf just got back from her driving exam and passed
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what car would fit her. She really has her eyes set on a Honda Fit, but im wondering what else is out there. She also likes 04-06 corollas, and those mazda3's. Our budgets around 12k. Also, if anyone has a car on the market right now, let us know thanks.

+1 on the IS300, 'tis a very sweet ride, but for your price range you'll be looking at high mileage choices:

i used to own an is300, really great car to drive. honestly, the quality inside and out is better than than G. the only reason i change to a G is because of more power and more stylish. high mileage is not a problem at all for a lexus. try to get something lower than 60-70k. should be able to get it for around 13-14k easily.

is this how a stock is300 looks like? looks like its lowered and got an aftermarket bodykit. if so, its probably beat the **** up haha. but yea..can anyone tell if theres any mods done besides the obvious tacky chrome tint?
..if not..then this will prob. jump to the top of the list...
if you cant tell..im pretty excited myself, cuz in a way im shopping for a beater myself cuz 80% of the time i will probably be driving the damn thing haha.
