Sony had much better quality 10 years ago... Their processors are still great, but the last Sony TV I had only lasted 4 years, a laptop lasted 1, and my Sony DVD changer only lasted 3... a new Sony dvd player I picked up didn't even last 1 month... brought it back to the store and picked up a different brand, and a few years later, this one still works great.

^+50mil.

again sony is overrated. yes they've earned their rep through the years, but like bose, a lot of what you are paying for NOW is the name. i install TV's all day... i am a HT tech and i mean if you have the money and want to waste it... go on ahead i suppose.. but samsung is the best consumer/bang for the buck tv out... sony is 80% HYPE.

i can relate sony to relationship situations....

you meet a bangin girl.. probably around 120lbs or so... keeps it tight for you for the next 5 years or so.. earns her keep... then starts to get "comfortable" and relies on the rep shes built up through the years as her quality diminishes now shes about 180 lbs but you stay with her because of what she once was...

hahah ok ok maybe that analogy doesnt work so well.. but hope you get it.

No offense to your friend, but I just went to Circuit City in Fremont. That sale rep doesn't know WTF he's talking about and start to talk back to me.

I was looking at the 52" XBR for $2800.

Me: Is there anymore discount on this TV or the Samsung?
Sale: No! it's already on discount! There is no reason to negotiate more with you unless if you buy more stuff!
Me: ???

Maybe it's because my bagpack that made him think I am just a high school kid.

I guess no CC for me, BestBuy sales rep are pretty professional and know their stuff.

yeah i work at the UC bestbuy... and that is exactly why CC cant hang right now... customers have no patience for them. you plan on just buying a tv? i know at bestbuy financing it legit they have no interest promos going on and package deals...PM me with exacts and i can do some footwork for you tomarrow when i get in to work and report back give you some options.
