Mortgage company recommendations?

I'm looking into buying a house and want to find a good mortgage company. I put in an app with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage recently and was just told by my friend to avoid them because they have poor customer service and uses ASC.. anyone who have dealt with them had any issues before? Also is there a good mortgage company to go with? I'm going to try Bank of America

i have an online savings acct w/ ing and have no had one single complaint. I notice they have fairly competitive mortgages too. I have not really looked into it that much yet though.

WF holds my current loan now and has for years. No complaints.

BofA I no longer use for anything from past experiences.
Home Loan dept may be different though idk...

With the recent sub-prime mortgage melt down, I'm not up to speed who's okay or not anymore sry...

Great time to buy, great lending rates.

Wells Fargo has had my mortgage loan for the past 4 1/2 years. Not that I've really had to use their customer service a whole lot, but when I did, I had no problems whatsoever. Wells also has awesome rates right now. A friend just locked in a 30 yr fixed for 4.75% with Wells Fargo!

Fremont Bank is pretty good, they hold the current loan, and refi's with them are pretty quick.

I have been with Wells for the last couple years and am refinancing right now with them (no fees) to a much lower rate. I have had no problems to speak of.

Wells and BofA are apparently going to be offering huge deals in the next quarter on mortgages. They are the two giants, and I think are planning on running out any other stragglers that have survived the economy. Bad for smaller mortgage companies, good for people wanting to get a deal on mortgage. Rumor at this point, I think they are still fighting with the government on some monopoly issues, but something will happen out of it that can only benefit consumers.

I work for Wells Fargo, and my parents and friends of parents all have Wells fargo mortgages for a number of years. Your friend might have gotten one bad experience, but I know that I've had my Mortgage Specialist get gifts, housewarming invites, and all sorts of other thanks from their customers. We are offering competitive rates, and if you want me to have her give you a call just PM me and I'll hook you up. Where you located?

I'm pretty sure it was no fees, David, but I'm not sure about the points. I can check on that for you, though.

My mortage is with Wells Fargo as well and I never had any problems with them. I've refi'd my house about 4 times so far and never had a problem (all my loans have been with Wells Fargo). I'm an escrow officer and one of my best clients is a mortgage broker. He's really good and he's been in the business for a long time. He actually did my loans for me the past few times. If you're interested, PM me and I'll shoot you his info.
