Almost lost my wheels !

So I drive off to work this morning and something dosen't sound right at about 40 mph, not sure what. Get on the freeway and get up to 65+ and now it's much worse. Sounds/feels like suspension, but steering is OK.So I'm freaked out now and immedialtly trun around and limp back to my local dealer for a look see. Thier not sure either, so they put it up on the rack lookin at everything underneath, then (finally) decide to take the wheels off. And... f*k !! No lug nuts on both left wheels except for the locks. F*k I went like 8 miles down the freeway like that !! I figure someone was trying to steal my wheels last night and got mostly done with the lefts (the most concealed side of my car in the driveway) and then got spooked and took off. I have three dogs but no one in the house remembers any barking in the backyard last night. I'm pissed and scared at the same time. My nieghborhood is obviously no longer safe for outdoor G parking, and may be I could have bit the dust on the freeway this morning! Losing both left wheels at speed in traffic I would guess would have been very very bad thing. I'm also thinkin they were stupid azz amatures/kids, becuase the 20 Thruxtons look special but thier really cheap cast wheels, and they have lost's of curb rash. Although I do have new KDW's just mounted so may be they were after the tires mostly. Any way I'm going to ramp up my driveway security (think blinding flood lights) and start putting the car cover on every night as added discouragement. Anyother thought..... could this just be haters trying to kill my azz ?? I would prefer to think stupid thiefs, not murder conspiracy, but WTF, any possible right? Any way , this happened in Concord/WC area FYI.

Daaaamn...stupid punks. Makes ya want to sit outside all night and wait for them next time, huh? That's what I feel like every time my vehicles have been screwed with. (4 out of 5 of mine over the years)

Your lucky man. Glad those didn't come off. They got to the lug locks and said Eff it. Don't think they were trying to kill you pre-mediated.

Not sure they were a dealer install. But nothing special, the rounded top type.
There have been some posts about "special" locks JDM , some kinda magentic
thing, but others say it don't matter. There are special lock removal tool kits available online, you just need your high power battery drill to do the job.
Oh BTW, I just discovered one lug missing from the front right !! That's where my major curb rash is LOL !! May be they got that far and said chit, these wheels aint worth jail time after all

Thanks for the humor John . Now that I think about it, may be I would have been better off with the insurance claim and 4 new wheels/tires (- rash).

Glad you and your G are ok

I have a hidden camera pointing down to my driveway which records every night and then I delete once a week, had it put up after some cars got vandalized a few years back.

Used to have a wireless camera in the car which did the same thing, the lens itself was the size of a needle point

how long until someone spews the "well that's why i always park my car in my garage" post? anyway, i'm glad you're safe man. i don't even have expensive wheels, but i'm still paranoid about someone partially removing my lugs after a failed attempt to jack the wheels.

Damn! That's hella crazy! Glad to hear you're ok, Paul. Sounds to me like thiefs, and not a plot to murder you, so you'd be wise to continue with your plan to bump up the driveway security.

That's crazy, that happend to me about a month ago but they got my locks off and left my car on blocks also in Concord(by the Clayton border), at least your ok, I was actually better off that they took them since my tires needed to be replaced anyway so insurance took care of me.
