NEED YOUR HELP! My car is making HELLA noise!

Ok, so i got my nismo front bumper painted and got it back yesterday. i decided to raise up the car a bit to avoid pot holes drives ways etc. everything was fine and i was driving on the freeway today to go to the body shop. all of a sudden i hear this scrapping noise or air pressure release noise or something like that. its pretty loud and a bit scarry hearing it on tthe freeway. i check out the car after i park and everything seems fine. look under the car, check the wheels, the tire pressure, the tires, the fenders, everything! nothing seems out of place. but the noise is still there every time i hit the freeway or got about 50mph. at first i thought it was valve stem cap cause i was missing one from last night. luckily rusty gave me one from of his spares and the noise is STILL there! any ideas guys?

So it's a hissing noise Mark? Not like a rubbing noise?

sounds like the same issue i had.

check to see if the undercarriage protector thingy is screwed on to the bumper.

i had the same problem and once i hit 60mph on the freeway the undercarriage started dragging on the road b/c of the downforce and made this really really fcukked up noise.

ya its like a dragging noise, so maybe ill jack the car up and see what the damage. its weird cause it will hit sometimes and sometimes it wont, but always on the freeway. i dont think its a rubbing noise. it sounds different from when my tires rub my fenders. is this something i can fix at my house? i dont think i need to go to infiniti right? i hope i dont need cut anything... anyone here with the nismo replica had the same problem? i know they recently "updated" the replica for undertray problems, might be the same thing then huh? thanks guys, ill keep you posted.

My tray is screwed into the inside of my Nismo rep. I have never had issues with it coming loose or scraping on anything.

Has it always been like that or did you screw it in after you found it it would drag. i guess the only way for me to find out is to jack it up and look around. screw **** around and test drive it.

tony, owner at T&T, did say that some screws on the bottom did fit like stock because the nismo bumper didn't have anything to screw to. its starting to all make sense, thanks a lot guys!

Yup, I agree with 05G356MT and 35gsleeper ,it's probably your undercarriage plastic crap being dragged on the freeway..same thing happened to me ..
just find some size 10 short screws and you'll be fine. easy to tack up.. or even use some zip ties to hold it back up is fine..
just remember that you need to be able to remove that under carriage crap in order to do a full oil change since the oil filter is protected by it

It was a lil hastle to remove that tray with all the stock screws and the few extra ones into the bumper. I even cut a few zip ties that were there too.

zip ties worked for me with speeds over 80-85mph on a windy day but i was pissed that the body shop missed it so i told them to screw it with the nismo bumper

it is a very easy fix. just jack it up and screw the bolts in (or ghetto-rig with zip ties) if you haven't changed your oil yet, you minus well take it off ,change the oil +filter, then bolt that junk back on so you wont have to take it off again for a few months.

Let me tell you all something. Zip ties are the best creation on earth! I used to do some drifting with friends around Calaveras and skyline few yrs back in HS and of course, someone would occasionally biff it, but the kits were zipped tied. They'd fall off and we'd zip tie them back up. good as new I had a $1200 body kit on my v6 accord coupe that was held up by zip ties and double sided tape. never once fell off or dragged. Quality on a budget
