Anyone in the 916 , get a key remade?

Im trying to locate a locksmith that could make me a copy of my key.

Does anyone have any good recommendations or cheap places?

possibly buying a key over the internet, get it cut, and take it to a locksmith to be programmed?

Do you need a key cut for the vehicle or a copy of your key made? I can cut a key to your vin number as long as the original lock sets are still in the vehicle.

There is a production date split in the middle of 2006 on G35's where they changed the design of the intelligant Key. Early models have the transmitter chip in the slide in key. Later models have the transmitter in the remote. The key can be cut to your vin but the transmitter will need to be programmed to the vehicle. Also all remotes must be present when the programming is done. Our service department charges $50 for the re-program. The keys are anywhere from $80-$200 List for remote and key. I would need you vin number to see what you need. We are also offering 15% off all factory parts for February if you can not make it down here this month for the re-program.

They sell it at Great Mall in the Bay area. My buddy got a key and a remote for $180 they programmed it right there for you . Yeah, can you believe it!! They're still selling for those of you that needs an extra set.

+1 for the Great mall kiosk guy.. you can get one of those keys that fold back in (flip key) like the mercedes/bmw's have-- cut and programmed for dirt cheap in front of you.
