Has anyone nearby installed ipod hookup in the coupe?

I'm thinking about installing an ipod hookup for my 05 coupe. The monster radio adapter thing I'm using now has horrible sound and some of the features aren't compatible with my iphone. Has anyone installed the hookup in a coupe and could help me out, and are you able to change the song using the dash controls, or steering controls, or is it required to use the ipod?

Thanks,
Evan

is it the adapter u hook in your cig lighter? if so u can only control threw ipod, u can use your iphone u just have to have it on the ipod screen before u plug it in(but it dont charge it), they do have a factory aftermarket ipod apater they sell which then u can control threw your steering wheel/factory face options and/or ipod your choice.(that is if u have a stock head unit) i actually may be selling mine since its just sitting on my floor in my room (i upgraded to a aftermarket deck).

What deck are you useing? after market? or stock? what monster adapter do u have?

it charges it, etc.. it's just crappy sound quality because it uses radio signal. I want a direct connection to my dash, like the factory nissan plug+harness for non SAT equipped cars, but don't want to attempt the install myself since I've never removed my dash before

I just looked at my car's dash and it has a PTTY(spl?) CAT button which might be category that includes satellite? Is my car prewired or does it have to say "SAT" as a button?

i assume your deck is exactly like my old one like this

the white box u see next to is is a after market ipod adapter for the deck its a plug and play adapter u just have to run the ipod cord where u want it, when i had bing install mien he ran it into the arm rest. u can control it from the factory face or ipod it self. there kinda pricey though i think i paid 175 cus at the time it did more then any other ones did. there might be comparable ones for like 140-150 maybe even cheaper?

if you have a tape player, just buy one of those cassette adapters. I use one in my car, alot cheaper and easier to do then mess with wiring or trying to pull stuff apart. Also, the quality is ALOT better then FM transmitters.FM transmitters are HORRIBLE for city.

I did it last week. I installed the PXAMG-A. It wasn't too hard to do, but it took a little bit of time. I found that the first time you pull panels off, they are a little tight and hard to get off. Overall it was pretty easy though. Well worth it imo. Ive had the fm transmitters and I hate them. Let me know if you have any questions or whatever. There are 4 adapters to choose from I think. I liked the features on the PXAMG best.

Bear with me if I'm not using the proper terms here but this is what I have.

I haven't installed my factory Nissan one but it hooks up into one the two spots reserved for the satellite located in the trunk. You take over one sat hookup and run it into the compartment between the seats. Your Ipod is hidden in the "change" area and you use the steering wheel controls. It will show the songs etc on your HU.
