I would only be able to make it on a weekend, so I voted Sat.

Re: Poll: Bay Area Dyno Day
In about a month, I'll have my first oil change (3750 miles), and my car will be all broken in and ready to go. Saturday's work best for me.

FWIW: Modacar in Livermore has a DynoJet (3 runs with A/F for $40), and I think you can schedule a "dyno day". You don't get to drive your car on the dyno, however.

Re: Poll: Bay Area Dyno Day
yeah, ModaCar is pretty cheap, but there was a poster on my350z.com who said the data they generate are not reliable.

based on a previous attempt to put together a dyno day by guys over at my350z

RPM Engineering in Rohnert Park
http://www.dynotuning.com

$75 for 3 runs with A/F if we get more than 10 (unlikely). Normal price will be $90

Dynolabs in San Ramon
http://www.dynolabs.com

ATP Turbo in Fremont
http://www.atpturbo.com

Dynospot Racing in San Jose
http://www.dynospotracing.com

DNR Performance in Hayward

Scott Performance in Santa Clara

APEX Motorsports

Once I get some free time, I'll start calling these places up and getting quotes. I'll try to get a couple different days to try to accomodate everyone. The quotes I'll be getting is for a minimum of 5 cars.

I'll keep everyone updated.

So far I have:

Myself
Linda
Darren
Xenon
4DrSkyline

and fro the previous post:

Don
Skeleton_Cru
Impul_G35
jbaggy
ramp

That's 10 people and we have ten votes

Re: Poll: Bay Area Dyno Day
I've heard good things about Vishnu Tuning out in Pleasanton. They are pretty famous among the Subie crowd and now the EVO's as well.

Re: Poll: Bay Area Dyno Day
conatcted vishnu and they quoted $100/car, so they are out.

anymore places you can think of?

let me know and I'll make the call, or better yet, you call them and find out the prices for 5+ cars and 10+ cars

Re: Poll: Bay Area Dyno Day
Vishnu used a Dyno Dynamic AWD dyno anyway, so there's no way to compare to those with DynoJet results which are more of a "standard" than other dynos.

I search my350z.com but couldn't find the particular thread you were talking about regarding Modacar having odd results. I've dyno'd other cars there twice and it appeared to reflect what should be expected based off of my mods. They cater mostly to Hondas, but they don't seem to have an aversion to other cars. Maybe they could give us a mild discount on parts bought that day too. I think they'd also have the room for a bbq area.

If you'd like, I can see them in person since they're only about 20 minutes away from my house. $40 per car seems a lot better than $60-$75 per car. That'd be one sweet lunch you could buy with the extra money!

Just a thought.
