Warranty Service at Oakland Infiniti
So my car is at Oakland Infiniti right now getting warranty service for the following parts:
3rd brake light
Driver's side window auto roll up
Pass side cigarette adapter
Driver's side front seat and seat belt
-->Voluntary Service Recall
ITB03-001 HEADLAMP ADJUSTER CAP INSTALLATION
ITB03-041 BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
ITB03-072 ENGINE SENSORS
ITB06-006b FUEL HOSES
I bought my car and extended Elite warranty from the same dealership. Randy, the service advisor told me that it'll be $175 just to do an inspection and he'll waive it if everything fits under the warranty. Kinda strange, I thought all I had to pay was the $100 deductible. Has anyone that has gotten warranty work done been through the same?
Also, when I called to schedule an appointment, I told them about the voluntary service recalls that I wanted done. The guy on the phone just kinda brushed it off, saying they'll look it up when I bring the car in. This morning, they seem reluctant to even talk about it. I had to bring it up several times to get the recalls included, but Randy didn't even want to write the service numbers down. I had to make him do it.
Is this pretty common practice for dealerships to do? I don't have a lot of experience with dealerships on the service side since I either do the work or take it to a trusted local shop for basic stuff. On the other hand, they did loan me a nice black on black 08 G35 Journey Sedan. The car is ****ing sweet!

Regarding the extend warranties, people really need to read the fine print, it don’t always covers every and any thing, even if that’s what the salesman told you at the time of purchase, and it tend have many loop holes.
If I remember correctly, those recalls happened long time ago, they could easily run your VIN number to see if they been done already.
They were once "good" dealership but it hasnt been the same since the ownership change, I'd suggest next time you drive lil further and do the service at Beshoff.

+1 to what Shane said. Since this is an extended warranty, the procedure may be different.
However, I was told about the inspection fee at Peninsula Infiniti with my regular warranty. I was told that their is a $1xx inspection fee, but if the problem is a warranty problem, it would be waived.
When I took my car to Beshoff, there was absolutely no inspection fee.

Try Beshoff Infiniti in SJ. The vast majority of the reviews for them have been good.
Infiniti of Oakland was good when Jesse was there but it sounds like they've gone downhill since he left. My brother in law was there recently for warranty service on his G and he said they sucked.

Just picked up my car. Paid $97.xx for everything.
Other than them trying to get me to pay for the service a couple times, they actually treated me pretty well. Overall, I was a bit worried at first but I'm a happy customer. If you guys are ever at that dealership for service, just make sure you look for Randy. I think he's the most helpful one out of all the service advisors there.

That third brake light, can you still get the old light back? I'd pay you for it, if you can.
I had mine replaced a long time ago under warranty also, but they gave me this 2 led light and it looks crappy to me. I want to see if I can repair one of the busted 3rd brake lights.
