Gotta go to a wedding in Sacramento... will be in town July 9-12... anyone have the hookup on hotel or car rental?

Not sure exactly where the wedding will be at yet, but any areas to avoid?

Details to come when the gf gets me more info.


Also, any suggestions on things to do while in town. Thinking about a drive to San Francisco but other than that I got nothing... All suggestions greatly appreciated!

Ok, wedding is in Corning which looks to be a bit north of Sacramento

 

hotels and rentals are not to bad with the deals you get now a days online. I would hit up San Fransisco, old sac? maybey even the beach?

 

Wow, that's way north of Sacramento, practically in Red Bluff. You might be better off staying up in Redding, Chico, or around there and then you can visit Shasta. I have friends in Chico and will post some places you can check out. I don't really have any hookups though. I get rental cars discounted from Enterprise, but you can usually find better deals through Avis or Budget if you go online. If you can't find a deal let me know and I will hit up my Enterprise connection.

 

Fights are booked into Sacramento... looked at the Citizen Hotel in downtown and was ok with the price (can get 3 nights for $380) but then you have to pay an extra $25/day for parking.... Not even sure we will spend much time in the hotel, just looking to stay in something semi nice. We figure the wedding is Friday at 6pm otherwise we don't have anything keeping us up north. I really want to make a day trip into San Fransisco but if I can't find the time, I won't sweat it.

Cyberecho79, if you have any details on places up north, let me know. As for the car I got a reservation with National with a discount from my auto insurance for 25% off... so $161 for 3 days... sound like an ok deal?
