Updated List...

Thanks to Barry for paying....

6. Ross (my350z.com) PAID
7. Ty (Sagi) PAID in FULL plus helped cover PayPal fees THANK YOU!!!
8. Eloy (skeleton_cru) PAID
9. Andy (chenga) PAID

14. Eric (Xenon) will NOT go if headers do not arrive
15. Ross' Brother (my350z.com w/ an BMW M3) - new sign-up. awaiting payment

Congratulations...We officially have 10 confirmed paid

2 verbal commitments from David and Don.

Not sure how many more cars ModaCar can accomodate, but the first ten who paid are guaranteed time slots. I will continue to accept payment until the deadline of August 7th. The last day to officially sign-up is July 31st. After that, the list will be closed.

You should still be able to attend the event, I just can't guarantee how many cars ModaCar can fit in a day.

THANK YOU!!!!

Vinh

P.S. Be sure to check out the other thread for the JGTC event down in Fontana, CA in Dec 18th/19th. It would be nice to get a large representation from NorCal. If we can't get a big group, I'll have to defect over to the 350Z group

wassup eugene,

if people are up for a cruise/lunch afterwards, than that would be cool. if anyone in the area wants to do some research and take on the role of organizing it, than I will definitely participate. i don't know the area and don't have the time to organize such an event.

but I will have a pool going that day $1 per person per car. you guess the HP of the car and whoever is closest without going over wins the pot. we do this for each car. You could go home with $100!!!!

who's interested?

in either case, do we have any volunteers to get a spreadsheet together to capture all the information such as HP, TQ, mods, mileage, etc? if not, I'll do it myself.

i'm pleasantly surprised we got 10 people to go. we've had other unsuccessful attempts at organizing a dyno day. now i just hope ModaCar can accommodate us.

Vinh,

I'd be happy to work up a spread sheet. Let me know exactly what info you want documented.

...E

P.S. My bro will be in Sac for an Acura meet so he won't be able to come with me. I think his buddy with the 350Z is going to Sac with him. (

*** MODACAR *** is actually a client of ours...!
We do their webhosting here at www.webadvantage.com. It's one of our many businesses we have her in SSF.

Who did we talk to at Modacar? Did we talk to JOHN or his wife?

Anyways, I like the "POOL" idea...Let's make it more interesting..$5.00 pool...!

VINH, NICK, DON, JAMES, YOUNG, LINDA...and anyone else who wants to come out maybe we can do a "research drive" on Saturday before the festival...I have to be back in San Leandro at 8pm but during the day I'm up for a run...

Let's ask MODACAR if they have a grill we can use for a mini bbq? HOT DOGS and BURGERS and we can sell sodas at the same time???

IDEAS????

(PS) NO DYNO FOR ME - I'll be there physically though -

BoBs =)

Vinh,

I think you got everything pretty much covered. One more minor thing we might want to keep track of is tranny oil although that is more important for autos than manuals. Dyno numbers tend to drop for autos when the ATF fluid starts to get nice and hot. Also altitude is something important but we are at sea level or close I beleive. Glad we got the 10, looking forward to the dyno.

Re: Nor Cal Dyno Day...Details Finalized..PLS READ

I have a Stillen exhaust on order (hopefully will arrive well before dyno-day). I've read the numerous dyno posts, drawing the conclusion that we now have a unique chance to get truly valid numbers: a) same day, same dyno, stock vs. Stillen, b) multiple cars on same day, same dyno. However, I have no idea if doing a pre/post install is at all feasible, given the number of cars to be dyno'd. I'd be willing to pay ModaCar to do the install (if reasonable), but am not sure if that's possible on a Sat.??? I suspect they'll be busy with our group, with no time for anything else. If I could "borrow" their lift (and maybe some help from the group...), I could do the install myself. Anyway, I don't want to be at all disruptive (will be a busy day with 10+ cars). I don't care too much about having pre/post exhaust runs. Just thought it might be interesting to post the results - for the greater good...

Re: Nor Cal Dyno Day...Details Finalized..PLS READ

UPDATE!!!! PLEASE READ AND PM YOUR DESIRED TIME SLOT

I just spoke to John at ModaCar and here are the details he gave me:

START TIME: 9:00 AM

Price: Confirmed $35 for 3 runs w/ A/F
PLEASE bring $20 cash to pay for the rest of the dyno. I'll probably just give him one lump sum to cover everyone. Also bring $11-$15 if you want to be part of the pool. Bring a couple of more bucks just in case we need help chipping in for food.

Dyno Machine: Dynojet 248c

Gear dyno performed in: 3rd BUT he can dyno in whatever gear the group wants it done in. Dyno gurus...what gear should we use? I've read 5th gear is the most optimal gear.

Max # of cars: 15-16

Time per car on dyno including set-up: 20-30 minutes

John also said he will have a grill set-up. If you guys want food, someone's gonna need to step-up and organize it. Figure food for 15-20 people is good.

Darren...you wanna take the 9:00 am time slot? We'll figure 3 cars per hour, so with 11 cars, you need to PM me your desired time slots. Anytime between 9:00-12:20, in 20 minute intervals These times are all estimate, so if you choose 9:00 am...you'll be first. If you choose 10:20 am, you'll be the 5th to dyno your car.

Everything is a GO!!!!

So the time slots will be 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30....etc. with a lunch slot for 12:00-1:00?????????
I would like the 10:30 slot if Darren doesn't want it.
Here are some tips that I found on NICO:
Reset your ECU 12-24 hrs before and drive hard on the way to the Dyno.
Check you airfilter for dirt.
Try to get a fillup prior to dyno.
I don't know if any of this has any effect.
I'll bring an ice chest loaded with drinks. What major brands is everyone like.
