Do you think we will have time to do a bbq and a cruise? If we are then we should start a sign up list.
Briquets & lighter fluid
Meat ??
Buns
Condiments
Chips
Paperplates & napkins
You know what would be a good idea? Shish kabobs
Everyone could bring something cut and ready to skewer. Then when we are on the dyno or bored we could put everything on skewer. No buns or condiments!
Maybe some chips or something.

hmmm...looking at some old pictures on the web from previous dynos at ModaCar...
looks like they may be running the Dynojet 224x, which has one drum compared to the 248x which has two drums.
what this means, i don't know. but i know some folks feel the 248x gives better results. oh well.
kurtis, any chance you can confirm for us prior to the event. shouldn't make any difference, just want to make sure everyone is well informed.

Since it's down to my decision for a time slot now, put me as early as possible. I'd prefer the cooler temperatures of the morning and I only live 20 miles away. 9am is earliest? Is that correct?
I didn't realize that there was a difference in model numbers between the in-ground dyno and the raised dyno. Yes, they run the in-ground 224x unit. Similar to what you'd see on many of the car-related tv shows. I don't know about how reliable it is on comparision numbers, but when I dyno'd my last car their it was about on par with other dynos with my mods.
We may want to see if we can get a diskette or CD with everyone's dyno runs on them. That way we can compare them to the Central FL Dyno Day numbers. Most MT model Gs ran in 4th, and the ATs ran in 3rd on their dyno day. Another thing to consider as a "mod", which some people wouldn't consider, is aftermarket wheel/tire combinations and aftermarket brake upgrades where the size of the rotor is increased. These both effect the results on the dyno numbers.
As far as pricing goes, last time I was in there they told me they'd most likely raise the standard pricing to $50 for 3 runs (-$5 per person on group rates).
Since most likely only one or two people from the shop will be there during the Dyno day (normally they're closed on weekends), then they won't be able to do any work on people's cars. If the Stillen exhaust is easy enough to install in a home garage with ramp/jackstands and power tools, then you could probably do it over at my house if you like. I can't see that the shop would let anyone use their lifts to do any installs while we're dynoing. It would be a HUGE liability risk for them.
See you all there on the 14th!

I forgot to add it to my profile, but I've also got a K&N panel filter. Since we're already got two other sedans with the same mods, even if they are MTs, I may need to order up an exhaust or something just to be different. :-)

I usually don't put my mods on my profile unless it is something serious. I have z-tube and 7-wire kit. Really looking forward to listening to Borla on sedan.

gokart,
I talked to the tech at Modacar today. Because of the location of the lift and the fact that we've got RWD cars, this may mean that the lift can't be used. Plus he said we'd have to find a break in the action to move you in there. But if we can work it out, he said you can use the lift for the exhaust install. That's a big "if", but at least it's better than a flat out "no".
I, for one, would be interested in seeing a before and after dyno on the Stillen exhaust. I'm thinking we can juggle the dyno slots around a little to accomidate this. We'll see how it works out when we get there I guess.

4Dr,
Thanks for talking to them. It really looks like the schedule is too tight to make a before/after run. Plus, as I stated, I don't want to disrupt things. The exhaust is coming Monday, so I'll probably just put it on and do an "after" only. We should still be able to get an indication of the benefit (or lack thereof) by comparing numbers between the different sedans.
