The reasoning behind this vehicle code isn't too hard to understand.

Anything that covers the reflectors on a vehicle is a danger to everyone. If a car breaks down in the middle of the road, at night, it needs to be visible from a far distance--hence reflectors on the front, side and rear of the cars--so as to avoid an accident.

What's next, blacked out road flares?
