Paddle Shifters?

Has anyone installed paddle shifters on their cars? I am about to order a set and have looked at the DIY but am wondering where I pick up a T-30 tamper-proof bit or wrench. Anyone?

I would really rather have a fully manual transmission than automatic w/ paddle-shifters. I just heard stories...=/

If I had to do it all over again I would go with a manual trans but since I am stuck with an auto the paddles are better than using manual shift mode. Care to elaborate what stories you have heard??

As much as I would like a manual my bank account says a $3,000 mod vs a $250 mod is a no brainer.
