Ownership woes.

Don't get me wrong, I love my '07 Coupe.

I've had this car exactly a year to this date. I remember how 99% pristine it looked on the exterior when I bought it and a year later, I have some woes I just wanna vent and ask questions about...

A while ago, I made a post about finding a crapton of tiny stone chips riddled all over my front bumper. I kinda got over that now... even though the damn bumper's paint is getting worse by the month. Sacramento's highways are brutal...

This week, I see a yet another chip that's half-dime sized on one corner of the bumper.

To add on top of that, I also found the other day three thin scratches on my hood. This was either done intentionally while I was parked somewhere or maybe one of my housemates accidentally scraped his backpack zipper across my hood while getting out of the garage. I don't think the scratches broke the paint but it surely does look pretty disheartening up close.

So anyway, this is my first ownership of a quality car. I drove around a hand-me-down Altima for years until I was done with college and I really did not really care for stuff like this with that beat up old junk.

My question is, what am I supposed to do for the long run? Obviously I probably shouldn't let these small dings/scratches/chips build up and never take care of them. But when do you say it's enough and take it to a body shop for scratch removals and bumper repainting? Anything my insurance can take care of for me without killing my rates?

I understand it's just a part of ownership to deal with these things but I'm a newbie when it comes to having a good maintenance savvy.

Anyway, sorry about the long rant. Answers and input appreciated.

Yup good ole Cali roads, especially I80. My front end looks like I drove through a gravel quarry. Chips in hood, windshield too....

Get repaint some day and agree with above...clearbra it.

My car is almost 6 years old and has rock chips in the hood and above the headlights. They irritate me each time I wash the car and see them but there is not much I can do outside of getting it repainted. I am on my 3rd windshield due to rocks cracking the glass. Such is the life of a daily driver. If your deductable is low enough, kick in your bumper and get a new one and clear bra like other have said. I have a full wrap on mine and it looks just as new as the day it came out of the shop..
