POKER NIGHT or BLACKJACK or whatever card game night?

Not that i'm "into gambling" I want to start learning how to play better BLACKJACK or POKER...Poker seems to be the choice of card games for many people cause pretty much anyone can play the game!

Do any guys or ladies here have a regular card game going on in the bay area?

Any other Bay Area peeps wanna have a regular monthly or every couple weeks set aside for playing cards?

i know the 350z guys have regular poker nights...most of them play on saturdays or fridays.

unfortunately, i work those days.

if you guys ever want to play on a sunday evening, let me know. i wouldn't mind hosting the event either if we play before the end of August.

Matt - It's still pre-liminary at this time...I'm just trying to get a heads up of whose interested for a once or twice a month sunday night of cards - If our buddy VINH hosts, it'll be in Daly City right Vinh? I'm still learning the game so once we start playing, maybe we can start off with "low limits"...After all this is something to do...

I know the guys in S.Ca meet up regularly every sunda at a pool hall for drinks and pool...aka mini-meets...This is a great way for us to hang out before an actual event..!

well.. there's only two weekends before the end of august.. since vinh is gracious enough to offer to host this event, we should work around his schedule.. maybe bobby (or i) should get in contact with vinh and set up a time and date first.. that way, people don't sign up, and then things fall through..

in the 350z crowd, the poker nights have gone really well.. hope it's the same for the G's..

looking at the schedule for this month, looks like this Sunday is the only day I can host. My housemates come back from vacation the following Sunday.

game we play depends on what people are interested in. i'd like to do pot-limit hold em with a $20 buy-in. start the blinds at say $0.25/$0.50 and double it as the night goes along.

i have clay chips as well as a poker felt table top.

by the way....did you see that guy who lost with a pocket pair of aces to "Jesus" Ferguson? Ferguson had King high and pulled out a pair of Kings on the flop and three of a kind on the river to pull it out. what a way to lose....

Answer - You are talking about the WORLD SERIES OF POKER on ESPN last night around 1am right? Can't believe NGUYEN and MONEYMAKER were out so quickly! - Some of these "rookies" were making some crazy plays...This one guy got luck with the FLUSH and I think he beat the 3 of a kind w/queens...ok I was up till 2 and only had 4 hours of sleep..!

Everything sounds like it's a plan...

ALSO - This might be a good way to put a side of the winnings for those who play say 10% of the pot goes to CLUB EVENTS - ??? -

just a thought...we can play at yahoo first, get everyone togather in same room and see how it goes, and we can talk about what we gonna do in real game, something like 25 cents/dollar limit per rise? if the pot gets too big? we might have some problem like ego gets in the way of friendly game....on the side note...does anyone know how to play mah jong?
