9:30-10:00AM at Z Car Garage if you want to caravan.

Here's the latest info.
In the past we have offered the package deal to include the hotel, dining certificate and castle tickets. The new owners (hotel) no longer offer the package deal but offered us the rooms at a reduced rate ($99.99 per night). Some people are staying one or two nights. If they want to attend I would make a reservation because this weekend usually fills all the hotels. The hotel has all new carpeting, furniture, windows and it much nicer than the last time you were there. Tickets for the castle can be purchased at www.hearstcastle.org.

The NSX group will have a few cars that will do the drive part way then hit Highway 101 and head back north late afternoon. Anyone can hookup at that point to make the return trip.

The plan right now is to do Hwy 25/Peachtree Road and arrive at the hotel at approx. 4:30 P.M. The hotel is keeping ZONC up to date of people who have reserved rooms. We have a group dinner planned at El Chorlito Mexican Restaurant across the street from the hotel at 6:00 PM. We have our own room for the dinner. . They have a very large selection in addition to vegetarian meals. In addition, Main Street Grill in Cambria is a great place for lunch. Priced reasonable, you order and find a table! One of the best places in Cambria.

Jack is planning on doing the Hwy 25 as along as it is not raining. If raining, they will go down 101.

I just made my reservations today. Now all I have to do is figure out when to wash my car. Stupid rain.

For those who maybe can't make it the whole weekend .. but want to "drive" ..

I'm (Jack) making this one day run part of the San Simeon/Hearst Castle event.
I realize that it's not possible for a lot of people to take off for a weekend and this drive is too cool to miss out on.

Everything will be the same from the main start, lunch at Hollister and the drive south down Highway 25 and Peachtree Road.

The only difference between this and the full weekend event is upon reaching 101 at any one of three junctions (King City, San Lucas or Bradley) it's an easy drive north back up 101, approx. 1-2 hours to San Jose.

So here is an opportunity to have fun on some great quiet, tight and twisty backroads with a group.

Round trip from San Jose to San Lucas and back via Highway 25/198/101 is 230 miles.

If you can, bring an FRS Radio and just show up at the main start:

Z Car Garage, 140 Archer Street, San Jose
Depart: 10:30 A.M. SHARP
