Also looking for body shop to repair/repaint
I came out of a boba place to see this happen to my car....
I called the insurance company and the damage is covered. After going to a body shop they recommended (Auto Collision Center in Daly City) and an independent body shop (Image Autobody in South City), they quoted around $1450 for repair/repaint.
Anybody else have personal recommendations for body shops either near the City or the Peninsula, especially from those who have Diamond Graphite cars that needed a paint job?
Thanks in advance....

Re: Also looking for body shop to repair/repaint
i decided to take it to Image Autobody. I'm going through my insurance, so anything after my $500 deductible is covered.
a fellow 350Z owner had her Silverstone bumper, side sills, and front lip painted and she said it turned out great.
i'll let you guys know how it turns out.
thanks for the tip though Don.

I'm not Vinh but if it's a hit and run it will be under comprehensive. Sorry to hear that your car got scraped like that Vinh. Kinda pisses you off when you have to pay for someone else's mistake. Some people just have no respect for other's property.

I am Vinh...
when I made the call to 21st Century and described the loss, she put it under comp, zero deductible![Smilie](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
BUT after the adjuster came out to look at it, he changed it to collision, $500 deductible![Frown](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I asked him if he was sure...he said he had no choice because if they audited him, it would be obvious to them (big wigs) that it was collision.
I had to drive by the bodyshop last nite just to make sure they brought her inside. It almost feels like taking your first child into the hospital. pretty nerve racking.
i'm still awed by the estimate to repair. I can't imagine it being too absurd, since three different people gave me almost the identical estimate
If your premium isn't too much higher, I recommend changing your collision to a zero deductible. I did that just in case my windshield ever cracks again or some punk decides to key my car or vandalize it.
my premium for collision is like $70 more for a $500 deductible vs a $1000 deductible. I would have liked a $100 deductible, but my premium would've jumped by $200.

Vinh,
keep us updated on the work this body shop performs.
After almost rearending Cayenne Turbo recently (driver didn't know what he was doing and slammed brakes in the middle of crossing the intersection), I upgraded my insurance to 100k liability to others and 1mil injuries. Costed me extra $40/mo. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Also looking for body shop to repair/repaint
body shop did a great job at matching the paint. i'm too lazy to post pics, but if you want, i can. just imagine a new DG bumper and that is what it looks like now.
they also fixed a ding in my passenger door handle.
they also helped me with my share of the payment.
i would highly recommend them.
