Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I dont have a g35 but my parents are in the process of buying me a car. I went to the infiniti dealership today and saw a new 2004 g35 coupe that i liked. It was a base model with cloth interior and no sunroof. The asking price was around or 29k or somethin (didnt deal with them yet). I am very interested in this car because it seems like all of the coupes with leather is over 33k but my parents is willing to spend under 30k + tax.

what i want to know is if it was possible to bring the car to a shop to have them take out the cloth interior and make it leather instead (if i buy the car) what kind of shop would i bring it to? And about how much should i be expecting to pay? I live in the Bay area btw...can you guys recomend some shops?thanks

Yes it's possible. My friend with an Eclipse bought a set of leather for his car and I helped him install it. The leather itself was ~$500 and we spent a long time pulling off the cloth and installing the leather with hog rings and crimpers. It's a tight fit and you have to do it right or it will look funny. So I imagine it won't be cheap for labor at a shop. Expect to spend at least $1000 for decent leather and labor.

I just bought a sedan with cloth because I didn't want the power seat control problem. Ballpark from a leather shop in the Fresno area is $2500. He said the hides and additional materials are $1200 alone. There are some leather kit manufacturers but I haven't seen any that do a G35 kit.
