Unhappy My car got a booboo

Well I had a wonderful saturday... getting off work early to go to my nieces birthday party and 4 mins before I get off a teenager comes flying around the corner as I am getting out of my car and hits my door shatters my drivers side window and the force pulls the door out of my hand. Luckily no one was hurt except my feelings. Another step out of my car and he would have hit me at about 25 mph.... so I feel lucky to dodge a bullet but my car paid the price.

Took my car into the shop today to get it fixed going to be a week to 2 weeks in the shop. There replacing my door and have to repaint the side of my car to color match it. Unfortunately they don't do tint apparetly after they specifically told me they do tint lol but oh well. My insurance said I can take it to a shop pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed within 3 days.

So im wondering ive looked at the forums here for a good tint shop and most of em seem to be in the south bay or east bay. Can anyone reccomend a good shop on the pennisula? I want to try to get it done the day I get my car back so im not driving with all windows tinted but one lol also thought about going darker and doing both windows and having my insurance foot the bill.

I got my tint done at King Tint in San Bruno. Really good quality during my experience. Ratings seem to say the same.

Got any pics of the damage? Stupid teens these days. Oh wait, i'm 19. Haha. No way I would act stupid like that though. =/ Some people just refuse to grow up.

Good luck with everything. King Tint is really close to South SF btw, so that would probably be a really convenient option for you.

Ouch, that sucks. It looks like the door closes/locks though.

Did you get the person that hit you, or did they drive off?

was thinking of going to ADS. Found on Yelp.com when I was looking up Tint kings or whatever it was.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/ads-mobile-san-bruno-2

They seem to be primarily a detealing shop but the reviews were very impressive better than tint kings I would say. I will look up best image though.Main reason for going to ADS was also to get quotes on other things I want done lol.

Going to order new interior LED's though and sidemarker led and LP led for the car when it gets out of the shop give it a lil flash hehe . BTW anyone know if its legal to have a red LED by my lp frame? or should I just go super white?

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc24601.htm

V C Section 24601 License Plate Lamp
License Plate Lamp

24601. Either the taillamp or a separate lamp shall be so constructed and placed as to illuminate with a white light the rear license plate during darkness and render it clearly legible from a distance of 50 feet to the rear. When the rear license plate is illuminated by a lamp other than a required taillamp, the two lamps shall be turned on or off only by the same control switch at all times.

Amended Ch. 1313, Stats. 1965. Effective September 17, 1965.
Red LED is legal so long as the plate is still lit by a white light source. IMO I wouldn't use it because red lights are used to signal stopping so some retard might get confused by it

That really sucks. Same thing happened to me when I was working at a rental car place. I was picking up customer at SFO and went to open door. Some jackazz was driving about 1 foot away from the car and slammed me. Ripped the door just like yours. I almost got my arm taken off. Crappy part was I had customers ready to go so they had to wait while I got the drivers info. I really wanted to tear the focker a new one for driving so close but it would have looked bad to the customers.

BTW. I have some LEDs for the side markers. They are the 6 LEDs I think. I dont need them since I have modded markers. You are welcome to have them if I can find them. LEt me know...

Beshoff will remove it and clean it up nice. I think I paid $110. You will have a mess of holes back there. What do you plan on doing to the holes?
