About to hit 30k, questions. (Sacramento)

Hey guys, about to hit 30k soon and going to need a shop to do this pretty soon.

1. I've always been a bit confused about doing these 30k/60k services in order to keep the warranty up to date. My understanding is if I do it at an Infiniti dealer, the service is automatically logged. So if I ever claim warranty for whatever reason, they see that I've been keeping up on my scheduled services and I'm good. But what if I do the 30k/60k etc. on my own or have some local shop do it? What happens to the warranty if I ever need to claim warranty service then?

2. Assuming that I figure out about question #1, I've been quoted at $430+ at Infiniti of Elk Grove which after a bit of reading here and there, its a bit high (not a surprise). I also contacted Maita Nissan and they quoted me $249 for their minimum recommended service. I guess that may be cheapest option but the service advisor I talked to wasn't sure what car package he wanted to quote me on so he just told me the price I'm getting is pretty much the service list based on an 07 Altima Coupe. If I do go with a Nissan dealership, would this be the right service list for an 07 Coupe (AT)?

3. If question #1 is basically, "it doesn't matter where you get service from" then anyone know a good local shop in Sac?

Thanks.

You called Infiniti of Elk Grove .. and Miata Nissan. But you didn't (maybe you did) call Nissan of Elk Grove? They're right next door. NoEG can do the service and keep things under warranty. Infact, depending on what's required .. some of the work will be done at NoEG (they have all the "new" equipment there).

I'm sure there are competent, authorized Nissan/Infiniti shops (non-dealerships) that can do "as-good" as NoEG or IoEG, and should be able to provide you with paperwork that shows the 30k/60k service was done IAW Nissan/Infiniti practices using Nissan/Infiniti OEM parts.

But as you said .. having the work done at the dealership - addresses any (?) questions regarding warranty - as the service will be in their computers and you'll have Nissan/Infiniti reciepts as well.

I'd go ahead and let the Infiniti dealer rape you just this once to have the service record..

Just go where you want or DIY, but be sure to keep the reciept(s).
