Any Problems replacing windshield thru insurance?

Got hit by rock on 880. Called 21st to file a claim for OEM replacement since my glass is solar shaded. They talked to glass company and denied my claim. How can they do this and how can I get around this without going aftermarket since I hear aftermarket may be similar but not Exactly the same. Want to keep all parts OEM. Any advice?

It goes based off the year of the car. For the first 2-3 years (if memory serves right) of the car's life, they will cover OEM parts. After those are up, they get reproduction parts.

You get around it by taking the deal for the reproduction glass and pay for the balance of the OEM one.

What year is your car? There are only a few manufacturers of glass. While you may want the OEM, infiniti uses the same manufacturer that you can get for cheaper and calls it OEM. For my 2004, I only pay about $250 installed for a new windshield.

You mean take the deal for the aftermarket glass? I was quoted $250. The oem glass was quoted at $538 and $165 labor. I have a $500 deductible and was willing to pay it and let 21st pay $38. But even then they refused. I don't understand it. I learned from the glass company that only Allstate is willing to allow Oem, while others you have to pay extra for glass coverage. Whatever happens next, I'm moving on to another insurance co when my 21st expires April 20.

2005. Yes, I hear there are 3 major manufacturers, if I heard him right one was PPG. I want the exact glass because I want my car authentic and original. I keep a collection of everything I've replaced starting with the sparkplugs and shocks (accounting major in college), just an obsession.
