paddles that high are for your eyes, your figures will be coming into contact w/the middle of the paddle which would be the top of the WB paddles

Correct but no one drives at 9-3, that is the issue. I only drive 9-3 on track days but for daily driving purposes my hands sit much higher and thus the works bell design is not the best.

This is what happens when you try and make an aftermarket kit for a car that was never intended to have paddle shifters, the stalks would have been placed much differently.

That is the reason why I removed the paddle shifters as my G35 is my daily driver and unless you can use them then they are just a cosmetic mod

Yep but look how high they are and they were designed from the factory like that......this model was not.

Like I said before a properly designed car has shifters much higher than the Works Bell ones.

yeah, you can use them when driving aggressively. no point in holding shifts for the daily commute

I know but I like to shift with paddles, especially when your pushing over 500hp to the wheels, its all about keeping the car in the right rev band and in auto it sucks

it's the same column and wheel, the only difference is the transmission. these can be set higher because they're set further in. the mechanical parts are inside vs the WB on the outside, to prevent cutting. i dunno man, you're not really making sense to me... they work when your hands are in the right place. if you're just cruising, you're prob only driving w/one hand anyway, so no paddle shiftier would work.

All I am saying in this, cars that come with paddle shifters are already correctly positioned at the right height like you have shown in the GT8 pics and I have shown in my pic. These paddles work even if your hands are not in the perfect position not just at 9-3 as no one drives like that just commuting daily. The works bell do not, you have to have your hands in a 9-3 position to make them usable, I know why they can't be moved up as I had them over 3 years ago.

I drive with both hands on the wheel so having paddle shifters was a perfect option for me so I did not have to reach over and tap the gears up or leave it in auto.

People have already stated they are low and I am providing my opinion also.

So Urban, with your experience with the shifters, you prefer them over the +/- shifter??

I do, I just wish there was a better design out there. I even thought of cutting my housing to make the height more adjustable but in the end decided to move on and do some other mods.

Me too, the paddle shifters seem intriguing but I don't really understand why it's placed so low. I guess people like SDGenius don't mind it tho
