Paddle Shifters

I know this topic might have been brought up before but i haven't found anything really relevant on it, so here we are. I have an 06 auto coupe with tilt wheel. I want to get paddles installed but the only option it seems out there is the work bell kit. Now im not much of a fan of that particular kit (prefer oem style paddles, these sit too low and move with the wheel) so i was wondering if it would be possible to somehow retrofit an oem paddle kit onto the wheel. If anyone in the Bay thinks they are capable of pulling this off or might know someone who could it would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Try AutoInnovatio. Those are the paddle shifters I'm looking into. I would definitely recommend a tune afterwards anyway just to decrease the lag between shifts. That's my plan at least. Innovatio paddle shifters, TransGo shift kit and an Osiris Tune. I've heard terrible things abt the WorksBell kit. Hope this helps.

I read somewhere that someone had ordered parts from them and didn't receive them or had a hard time getting in touch with the guys who work there.

Well i personally don't like how low they sit on the wheel (it seems like you have to shift with your pinky). And i'm not sure if they turn with the wheel or not but id rather have a stationary set.

so SDG, how long have you had your works bell kit? Was the install hard? Did you do it yourself? How is the overall feel of the kit? (not looking for something cheap or flimsy feeling) And also do you have any upclose pics of it mounted on the wheel column? Thanks

I'm interested in getting paddle shifts too. But those works bell still look a bit low. I'm also curious about the autoinovatio kit, but had read that thread about not getting the kit.

Love mine, too, not flimsy at all. Install is a bit of a PITA but not overly difficult.

not sure how high people would want the paddles to be, the blinker and washer ***** would def get in the way, also when driving aggressively your hands should be at 9 and 3 not 10 and 2

Thanks SDG appreciate it. I'm re-considering the works bell kit since you two guys seem to like it. Now it's time to find a vendor and someone to install it (don't really have time for DIY's anymore). Also would it be possible to probably mount the paddles a bit higher? To me it still seems like they are sitting a bit low.

I had the works bell shifters at one time in my ride and they do sit too low, if you look at the 9-3 hand position the groove on the steering wheel is much higher than the paddles, you can just about touch them with your fingers.

A car which is designed for paddle shifters will be postioned much better and I can say that as my M5 paddles are way better hieght wise. See pic below of 9-3 hand position and how high the paddles are compared to the groove in the wheel where your hands would rest.
