77 on 50? - you're pretty much out of luck. if it was less than 25 mph over speed limit, you'd be entitled for traffic school. as it stands, you can try to go to court and have the ticket decreased, and ask for traffic school. but you're in trouble anyhow... i got 90 on 55, so i know... i ended up just paying mine.

please give us details - were you paced, was it a motorcycle cop or what? where on bay bridge, exactly?... please more details.

I was kinda in a rush...After pay the bridge fee, i accelerate a little fast to 80mph, but there were alot of cars. He was a motorcycle cop, he said i was showing off. But i really wasn't trying to, i was just try to catch up to the car in front of me. Anyway, I don't mind to pay for the ticket and do traffic school. I just don't want a record. This is my first ticket by the way.

Oh, when should i go to court? I got my ticket today, the cop said i can go anyday b4 7/21/05. Can i go on this weekend? I really need help on this one.

I think you might want to wait for the courtesy notice in the mail before you spend entire afternoon stand in the line waiting , last time I got a ticket, cop told me that I have 30 days to take care of it, when I went to court? the clerk told me that they have no record of my ticket and told me go home and wait for the notice in the mail, there should be a phone number on back of ticket that you can call to check on the process, If they dont allow you to go to traffic school? then it will show on your record

yes, we got it, it's your first ticket. you mentioned it three times.

it will be entirely up the judge, so you never know... judges have their good days and their bad days... btw, i got nailed by a motorcycle cop too, he paced me. the one time i didn't pay attention to what was behind me... bam!...

wait for your notice, for sure. then google for california traffic ticket, there is an online payment thing. you can choose to pay the ticket, or pay the ticket and request traffic school. if you can avoid going to court and maybe it'll give you a traffic school option, take it. it's worth avoiding the nerve wrecking experience of going to court (well, at least it would for me).

you can go to court, plead guilty and usually the judge lowers your fine and gives you traffic school. I had to go 4 times =P

here you go:

http://www.dmv.org/ca-california/traffic-tickets.php

from there, you have a link to California DMV (to pay your ticket) or to approved online traffic schools

Friends have told me their process on court thing, but they never mentioned anything about paying for the court hearing.

at this point your cost concerns are null and void. you will get raped with no lube any which way you go, so just forget about trying to get out of this cheap. what you want to try to avoid is points on your record - forget about cutting $$$.
