sf christmas

Hey guys,
I am going to have X-mas in San Fran with my bf. what are your recommendations as far as places to visit other than Lombard st, fisherman's, and the bridge? Or do you recommend visiting there during X-mas week at all? I have never been to SF and I am from Palmdale-Lancaster, sort of northern part of southern CA.

The Alcatraz tour is pretty cool. I think you need to get them far in advance.
If you have a rental car, going to Sonoma or Napa for some wine tasting is fun.
In the city, some other things to do are walk around Chinatown and get some dim sum, check out North Beach (Little Italy), and get a sundae at Ghiradelli Square.

Union Square is pretty lively during the xmas season.. you can go make out at twin peaks.. altho it might be a little foggy, but that's to your advantage.. go grab some clam chowder at fisherman's wharf.. japanese tea garden.. golden gate park.. california academy of sciences.. museum of modern art.. the 49 mile scenic drive down to monterey bay.. angel island.. palace of fine arts.. head across the golden gate bridge to marin headlands.. notice that these are just inside SF alone.. so imagine the outlying cities such as Santa Cruz, Half-Moon Bay, Sausalito.. the question you should ask yourself is what you want to do

how cold?

Hey guys, I was thinking that Sf winter isn't as brutal as one in Mojave desert since the city is at sea level, but when I talked to a guy who traveled there told me it gets as cold as winter in Mojave. Is this true? Do I need to pack serious winter clothes? Myself and my bf will be traveling to SF in the last week of this month.

You better pack some sweaters at least. I'm freezing right now and I'm in my house.
