What size did you guys get? 5/16 or 1/2?

Also, would you recommend the basic or iso thermal?

I'm close to ordering one for my 05 5AT...any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I recall, the optimum spacer is the 5/16" if used in conjunction with the modified lower collector known as the MREV, which was originally designed for the RevUp engines. Since you have the non RevUp engine, you may benefit more with the 1/2" spacer. However, you may have an issue with placing the engine cover over the 1/2" spacer. Some people have installed the 1/2" spacer with no engine cover issues, but it has been a concern for many.

Andy I am having a plenum spacer put on tomorrow and I was advised by Sam at GT Motorsports to go with the 5/16 due to the engine cover not going back on so if your certain that a 1/2" will still alllow for the cover let me know...lol I like putting you on the spot

Paul,

The only member that I know for a fact that did not have an issue with the 1/2" spacer and engine cover is Dennis aka GEE PASTA. If you are dead set on mounting your engine cover back on, I would go with the 5/16" spacer.

You know me I am not dead set on anything really, I was just advised that to keep the car sleeper looking I should stick with the 5/16" so I probably will the biggest decision I have to make tonight is to ditch the Unichip and go with the FCON....now that is a big decision

I'm sorry. Among all of the DIY (pictorial and written) that I have posted, the MREV and plenum spacer were the first mods that I performed and it never dawned on me to do a DIY. However, I have helped many via PM's with regards to the said items. If you need a hand, give a shout.

Are you referring to simply a Motordyne plenum spacer or the whole MREV install?

Oh, I just noticed your sig. You have a RevUp engine. So, you would probably want to install the MREV2 and the 5/16" plenum spacer. Whether you opted to install CCV or Copper heating plate would be your choice.

With that in mine, I did my first own install in my garage in about 2 hours . . . And I went very slow for obvious reasons. On the outside, you should figure some 3 to 3-1/2 hours tops. PM me if you need any help. Tony at Motordyne was an excellent resource foe me, as I was one of the first to install the MREV+ set-up.
