Damnit! I have been reluctant in responding to this thread, because of my back. My back does not afford me the luxury of bending and leaning over for extended periods of time, anymore. That's why I am having someone else install my next few mods. However, I would love to assist everyone with their MotorDyne installs.

We have just started a home remodeling project. So, time is quite limited, now. However, I am available this coming Sunday. If you guys can arrange for a mini install meet, I'll be there. I'll keep track of this thread.

Things to keep in mind (I did everything by the book):

1. Your cars should be allowed to cool down for sometime. I allowed my car to cool down overnight. This will afford for easier extraction of the existing bolts and the installation of the new bolts. I wasn't too keen on stripping/snapping any bolts.

2. I disconnected my negative battery terminal overnight, as per Tony's instructions. Perhaps, resetting the ECU via the pedal method will suffice.

3. For those of you, whom are installing the MREV and have a Coolant Control Valve in lieu of the Copper Heating Plate . . . I would suggest preassembling the CCV and the 2 threaded fittings. This will save some time and allow the sealant to cure prior to its installation. Use a Teflon Putty or a Silicone RTV sealant. Do not use a simple Teflon tape. You will not want teflon tape in your coolant system.

4. Use an inch-lbs. torque wrench. I can't stress this too much. You DO NOT want to either under nor over torque the plenum bolts. This holds especially true for the bolts at the intake manifold.

Bring lots n lots of paper towels. Your hands are going to get quite dirty. That's all I can think of for now.

LOL . . . Being a novice, myself, that was one of my main concerns, as well. After the lower collector is removed from the intake manifold, it is wise to cover up the manifold ports with rags while prepping and waiting for the install of the Aramid gasket. You wouldn't want anything to fail into the engine.

It REALLY is an easy install. Like someone else said, it was easier to install the whole mrev plus with copper tb heater than it was too install the oem front lip!

Just be careful and you'll be fine doing it on your own. Personally I like the satisfaction upon completion of doing it myself.

it prevents from ice forming on the throttle body in cold weather. if you ever plan to drive the car in weather colder than 40-50 degrees, you *need* it.

If you have an inch-lbs torque wrench, I'll help... I'm in the area too, so when and where isn't as big of a problem... I don't want to hand torque on somebody else's car...

I'm in the area willing to help out, but this guy needs a torque wrench because I don't have one small enough to do 7.5 ft/lbs of torque, or 9.5 ft/lbs of torque, and this is an important part of the install, ESPECIALLY if he does the install himself, even with someone watching.
