That said, I'm soooo sick of brake dust from the OEM brakes, good thing they were free under warranty. As soon as they wear out, I'm getting me some ceramics and I hope we have a brake-pad-changing-guru in the Bay Area 'cause I knows I is gonna need sum halp.

Andy, I make money off comedy - people pay me to stop telling jokes (side job).
Danny, give me a holller when you are ready to change your brakes. I've done it on 3 G35's now.

The installation might be off but I like the idea of getting together to test the "differences" on each others cars(no stupid driving ) in one of the posts.
Furthermore, I'd like someone to try drive my car and tell me if my engine is pinging cause Rob and Z Car Garage tells me my engine pings and most of you who have the MREV don't even have that problem.

I am available anytime to drive your car.. I had pinging too.. or at least that's what I thought it was until I learned of the axle nut issue.. Mine is getting resolved this tuesday at Infiniti of Serramonte just as Andy's got resolved.

oh.. that might just be the "fabled" rear axle i've read so much about... funny that i didn't think of that.
BTW: after the installation my cars gotten all squeaky on the passenger side. =.= I know that they removed the panel beneath the glovebox to plug in the Unichip but could that be it? I can't really pinpoint where the squeak comes from but hell its annoying. I feel like I'm driving an old beater when on the freeway(cept for the power ).

Serramonte refuses to fix my axle due to my modified suspension.

I got my rear axle clicking fixed at Infiniti of Fairfield (Barber Group) and I had all my mods on the car when I dropped mine off.

I'm not surprised, Boris, your suspension is about as modified as they come.

BTW, did you ever get your new suspension installed? Could you post details (here, for lack of better place)?

In short, G35 coupe Tein Basics (needed that extra height adjustability) on Stillen Sways. Stillen RSTB for coupe ordered (don't know if this will work, but I will test fit it). Pending purchase of GT Spec lower tie bars, or the full brace (if it is confirmed that it will fit my sedan).

Searching for some BBK-friendly 17's to finish off the package...

just want to update everyone that the rear-axle fix did nothing to resolve pining. Rob at Z car drove my sedan and said it was pinging under load for sure.

Better to resurrect an old thread than to create a new one. I'm installing the MREV2 and spacer with coolant control valve soon. I bought Pipe Thread Sealant with PTFE (aka Teflon). Is that the right stuff to use?

That will work. You can also just use teflon tape.

If you have alot of miles on your G, this is also a good time to consider changing the plugs.
