RedG-
Hmmmm, dont worry, you are not really "rape" by allstate insurance. I pay like close over $over 870 for every 6 months from Farmers Insurance!! how's about that rate....Car payment is nothing but car insurance is a scary thing, to me!

BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
seems like our expenses are simliar...gas tires...etc.

well i included my dad as pimary on the registration and loan..
with his clean record, my clean record, multiple car discounts, that's how we got it to about a $1,000.00 per year...compared to our 4runner, honda accord v6ex, it's still a lot.

yep i agree i give up some sacrifices to own a g35. but man...this car gets expensive ...plus going out, rent/mortgage etc.

it'll be 2 years now april 1st for me....and it's still getting a lot of attention...
that makes it all the worthwhile...

i was considering an M3 recently, but having compared the extras in options and price of the M3, we have a great car at a competitive price...

any regrets on not getting an M3? if money were no issue, i'd do it, but this is my first sports coupe for me....

I pay $1,800 every 6 months with a Farmer's umbrella plan (I think I need to take my car insurance elsewhere).

Vodkarocket- Poor guy, that is way too much for 6 months. I thought I was the only one who paid as high as $1000 for every 6 months until your info show up and push me back to 2nd rank. Farmer is expensive for some reason, you may check on what's discount you got in the policy. You can get some discount for your occupation too. Being an engineer, I get about 5-10% discount. Good luck and yes, that Farmer's Umbrella has a lot of holes, wont keep you dry...but it does dry up your pocket buddy!

i highly highly recommend everyone gets a price quote from wawanesa. they're an awesome insurance company, A+ rating on their bonds, and they don't insure just anyone. their rates were SO much lower than progressive, geico, state farm, all state, etc. i've used them when i had once accident with my accord and they were great.

Don't forget that with insurance, they base it on age, driving record, number of accidents/speeding tix or combination of, zip code where you live etc.

Since I have a company van I use for work to commute, i put myself full-coverage/part-time driver. Usually just drive at nites and weekends...

37K after 2 years ....too many miles? Don't forget, insuarnce co's check your ododmeter...

hmmm is there a way to unplug the odometer reading on non-navi g's?

GYAL8R: Yes, there is a way to unplug the odometer. I dont know how but I know someone do that on their cars and that is not legal for sure. The problem when you unplug it, you wont' able to tell what is your speed and that is not so good when you doing like 90mph and feel like you are under the speed limit. If you get caught with it, I couldn't picture what is a penalty! Personally, your mile is not so bad, I have 39K just over 1 year, 4 months, 2 weeks and few days or so. So dont stress out over it, you are just rank 2 in this contest! hehe! take care,

Good luck to those of you who have Farmer's Insurance. I used to be insured through them until my last car got stolen. Bastards took 3 friggin months to finally settle my claim, which meant that I was still making car payments on it even though the car was totalled. The claims rep that was assigned to my case was a major beeyotch who totally lagged on everything and never returned my calls. Didn't get jack shiet for my aftermarket stuff either.

To add insult to injury, I was paying $1700/yr for full coverage on a slow POS '00 Civic Si which pissed me off since my record was clean and I was under my parents' insurance policy at the time (long policy history, multiple car discount, mom was assigned as primary driver, etc.). When I asked my insurance agent why my rate was so high for that car he simply said it was b/c those cars always get stolen.

Needless to say I promptly stopped doing business w/ Farmer's. Ok, enough ranting!

BTW, have any of you checked out Costco's website to look at car insurance quotes? A friend referred me to that site and their rates seem pretty reasonable, esp if you have multiple cars on the policy.

Insurance is $547 for 12 months of 300k/100k coverage....

$427 a month for 60 months financing....

About $150 a month on premium chevron gas....

got my 2k2 6spd maxima as daily driver/beater so the g35 is the garage queen.
