Can I make a claim.

On my way to work on Thursday I hit a huge pothole on the passenger side, thought nothing of it until I got to work. I got out to check the rim and it was fine but there is a big bulge in the side wall which was caused by the pothole.
I took a pic of the damage and the pothole but I have no idea of where to make the claim? Eloy I know you have this issue...can you point me in the right direction.

Just thanking God that it wasn't on the new setup

If the insurance is universal through out dealerships, it's "MasterTech"

Claims number: 1-800-346-6469 Select #1 then #6

Most tire dealers will work direct with them, so you have nothing out of pocket.

Maybe a silly question but what do you mean by insurance is universal throughout dealerships as I have different tires than the stock setup.

What I meant was, if all the dealers used the same insurance company for the tire warantee. The dealer told me that it didn't mater what kind of wheel/tire combo you had, it was covered.

I know, the bumper may be a piece of scrap as know one knows how to repair it but I have gotten over it, the tire was surprise but I had already purchased a new set up so this just made the transition a little quicker.
I am not going to go through the tire company I am going to try and get the county it happened in to pay for the damage as this is a caltran issue as far as I know.

Thanks for the responses guys.

This is not true. I had a Chrysler Sebring that my daughter ran into the back of a welding truck. They had a big trailer hitch that stuck out and it made a hole about 3" around in the front bumper (same type as the G), the body shop fixed it like it was never there.

Sorry Texas but the other post was refering to my aftermarket bumper which struck a piece of metal on the freeway a few weeks back and smashed the corner in. Due to it being made out of fiberglass it is a little more difficult to fix.

Funny though that you mention the trailer hitch as someone backed into my wifes Jetta and put a 3 inch hole into the bumper and bent the hood up a little, as the driver drove off (we were shopping at the time) we just had our insurance company give us the go ahead to bring it in for repair. So much going on with my cars that I don't even know where to start...lol

Andy thanks for the info.

I'm sure you could file with the city for the damage, but how long will that take? When I buy tires I get the road hazard insurance so if I wreck a tire they will replace it for me and all I have to pay is the labor for mounting balancing. Last time it was only $65. That beats $300!

So what was the outcome? I washed my car yesterday and have the same thing! A bulge in the front rim??

I didnt get the road hazzard tire/wheel protection can I still claim it under insurance? Or warranty? I also have no idea when it happened.

What bumper is it? Fiberglass can ALWAYS be repaired by a body shop that knows how to deal with fiberglass.

What tires are you using?

Chris this is an old post, the bumper was a kenstyle replica. I have a pic somewehere. Still have not got round to fixing it as I don't feel like spending extra money on it just yet.

The tire was covered by the county I sent them a claim and a pic of the huge pothole. Since then I have bought the Volks so everything turned out fine.
