I have decided to make a weekend out of this trip, so the woman and I are going to stay in Monterey/Carmel overnight. Any recommendations for a nice hotel? Anybody else interested in staying up there?

What a sport you are. You might stay at the La Playa. It's our favorite place to stay at in Carmel. For a good restaurant, give Anton Michel a try. They have a great rack of lamb for 2, which is prepared at the table.

If you two decide to stay in Monterey . . . The Monterey Plaza is a good choice. The ocean view rooms afford for a nice setting. It's just steps away from the Cannery Row.

This is great. I'll visit with the manager at Gilbert's (Monterey Fisherman's Wharf) this coming Saturday, during the dry run and get our reservations a bit more firmed up.

If you're looking for a good restaurant to hit up on your way back, I'd suggest Shadowbrook in Capitola. It's a really nice place to bring the woman... great scenery, ambience, food.

Humm........... Okay "Paul" you were here first so just call me "IC Paul". I am so pumped about getting my ride and making the June trip down the coast.... I am sure I will be picking everyones brain for different ideas for my "G"....

 

Are there going to be any pre-meet ups before the big push down the coast? I don't think I will be able to make the full run but would like to try to make any pre-meet ups.

Look at list? I dont think that will be a problem, we got Paul who is in 20k club, Andy is in 10k club and he will be in 20k by end of summer , mborel7052, skeleton_cru, machavez702 and ajayjuneja are approaching 10k, then there are Disco_Monkey and vodkarocket who knows what they have now ...sure is sweet to have money laying around for Modds.

And looks like we might have other one in 10k club soon...

 

LOL, you're withdrawal symptoms are pretty severe.

 

We always used to stay at the Cypress Tree Inn on Fremont St. It's an old place and the rooms are straight out of the 70's, but they have a great location and in room hot tubs.

 

Sure is sweet to have an M3 laying around to mod.
