my buddy is going to supercharge his impreza pretty soon (again!) and him and I are planning to hit up the airport raceway thing in Bremerton. he said it was something like $35 for 3-4 runs in a coned track on a huge airfield parking lot/runway so worst thing that could go wrong is you run over some cones. it is rented out by the NSCAA or whatever one of the big racing associations are, so it's legit. i think it's a bit more affordable than $175 for pac raceways for those of us that don't want to blow that much money for driving on a road. i think they have driving classes and such there too that are offered, might be interesting to take a couple to learn a few things to get that extra edge in our cars.

i'm sorry i don't have super detailed or accurate info quite yet, but i will when the time comes near... so we should all make it out there that want to come. best time to leave is around 7am and just spend most of the day there (it's also quite the trip so good to make time for the journey). then probably food, drinks, whatever, hanging out

if anyones interested just let me know. no set dates yet, but it should be real chill and fun and he said most of the people there are really relaxed and just have a good time

no, don't really do the autocross thing, SCCA puts on autocross events around here often, they do it at Boeing Everett quite a bit

I live in Bremerton... never really gotten into the racing scene or anything like that, but I've heard about the raceway and that it's a pretty good time. Anyways, if anybody wanted to organize an event out here I'd be willing to help with ideas for food/beer or whatever.

Bremerton is about an hour drive or an easy ferry ride from downtown Seattle.

 

When I did the driving course at pacific raceways, I met someone that went often. He said: It's in an autocross format (as someone already pointed out), it's pretty fun and a good deal for the money... but that it was nothing compared to pacific raceways in the sense of the speeds you can hit and the overall size of the course... which is obvious.
