Just one in million chance if you get into same situation
where you stuck in wet sand and you only have one pull or push to get out of sand before the tide........use the tow hook and let water eat you car
only choice i had was go foward (to the ocean) or back..
use your tow hook cause i could find the hook on the back....
gosh i didn't know there was tow hook on the back
i thought there is only one in front
Not using the tow hooks was a secondary act of stupidity. Putting yourself in that situation in the first place is the root problem.

A couple of questions:
First off why would you drive your G in the sand and/or water? Then after it gets stuck why would you even think about trying to pull it out using the axles? The car has tow hooks.

I'm sorry man but I think more common sense on your part would have saved you this headache. Actually you are very lucky that is all of the damage you incurred by pulling the car out using the trunk lid.
+1 I am lost for words. What made you decide you trunk was the best option?

Give him a break. God forbid, if any of you ever got into this situation, either sober or most likely drunk, you wouldn't want people flaming on the thread you posted because you were venting your frustrations to the rest of the board. If anything, this serves as a reminder that some of us need to take better care of our cars and don't overestimate its abilities. Sorry to see what happened kimchi.

Just being on the beach is not a stupid thing to do. I used to do that all the time. And one time I was in a similar situation, as the tide came in. I didn't drive into the wet sand as the tide was coming in. I was in the dry sand having a picnic with the wife. We spend a good deal of time, and while we were sitting, we noticed the tide was coming in, and there were a few occasional freak waves that went all the way to the truck. We've gotten stuck a few times, though we've managed to break free without yanking on the tailgate

I don't think what he did (getting stuck) was that dumb. One time I was on the beach, and some guy in a chevy citation thought it would be cool to drive in the water and create big splashes... Needless to say, I had to tow the guy out of there with our truck. (And no, I didn't tie the rope to his bumper, like that video of the geo storm )

Having a truck on the beach is different from a g35. Even if the truck's 2WD, you've got larger tires with taller sidewalls that are more condusive to those traction conditions, compared to a sports coupe with low profile tires.

Speechless....well, maybe not. I'm amazed that people like this live in the same area as me...did I accidentally wander into the Alabama regional forum?
