What happened to.. keep it basic.. nahmeen?.. just keep it basic.

jk

In all honesty.. Nitrous is just as dangerous as both the other forced induced options you stated. It is cool that it's cheaper, however, if something were to happen, the outcome is still the same. You would still have to repay for everything and the so on and forth. At least with turbo, and supercharging, you take into consideration building your motor for your "expectations", and "potential gains" in mind.

With that being said, I personally wouldn't put a nitrous kit on a stock block either. It's the same concept of a turbo.. shooting more psi into a place not built for it, for that moment in time. I would rather build a motor, slowly, (considering that you wouldn't be able to get the funds as quickly)get it tuned, correctly, and in the end not have to worry (too much that is) of my motor blowing spontaneously.

Hope that helps.. if not, then.. sorry? lol

KEEP IT BASIC maNg!! haha... or at least keep it w/ out Nitrous. Buy some bolts ons with the money or save for a turbo/SC IMO. Although, it is cheap but you gotta refill quite frequently it'll addup, and how often do you encounter a situation that needs NOS? Personally I never get anyone that wants to race around here (Lynnwood). It sucks, but its true :0(

I think im in the same position as you, mixturepinoy. Ive got a friend that has had 2 dif. supercharged cars and he said he had nothing but problems out of them. Then he went the nitrous route and never incountered a problem. There are so many safty gadgets made for nitrous now, as long as you dont go crazy & slap a 200hp jet in there, I think you should be okay, but Im no profesional... That being said, I voted yes.

I have had NOS before. It's like buying a supercharger and paying payments except it's not worth as much when you go to sell it. Plus you can't use it all the time unless you want to pay big bucks with refills.

I vote to save up some money and buy a Stillen or Vortech and just pay payments. There are lots of 0% interest for 12+ month credit cards. That's how I got most of my mods.

When you guys say "NOS" do you mean the actual Nitrous Oxide System brand "NOS"? Otherwise, the gas is not called NOS!!! lol...

I mean any nitrous oxide brand (Zex, NOS, Nitrous Express, Venom, etc).

When I had my kit a refill on a 10lb bottle was ~$40. One bottle would last about 10 minutes of use which was a couple weeks used very sparingly.

If anyone has a friend with a Honda who wants a kit, I still have my Zex kit with two bottles. I'll sell it for $150.

i say do it, but do it right. Buy all the nessecesary things ( bottle warmer, window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, etc) and a good tune. People say Nitrous isnt safe, its not if you dont use it right. Sure you can blow your motor up but do a search, hella people blow their motors up from turbo and superchargers. Hell, my buddy blew his motor up with a tubonectics single turbo (on a z) a week into having it!!
check out this thread too, good info...

Exactly what I wanted to post originally.. but I thought the "keep it basic" comment was rather enough already The only reason I was going to say this is because about 4 years ago.. I used to say "NOS" for all the installments of nitrous oxide systems lol. But I have now undertsood that not every nitrous kit, is a "NOS" kit
