long story short. he buys my wheels. i tell him the condition of the wheels before paypal payment is made. the wheels had some nicks and a couple of light curb rashes. he puts on the paypal description that he is buying a set of mint condition flawless wheels. he recieves the wheels claims that they are terrible and in very bad condition. which they werent. he makes claim through his credit card company. They pull the money from my paypal account. now he has my wheels and my money. he tells me the wheels are all bent, chunks were missing etc. i never had a problem with the wheels being bent. i bought them used and never had them spun. the wheels were sold right after an event i attended. if the wheels were bent then why is he using them. they are on his car, he has pictures in his thread with the wheels on his car. he has also sold the original tires i had on the wheels. he wanted new wheels at used wheel prices. he nickeled and dimed me. He did not want to pay for professional packaging, insurance, or anything. wheels were damaged during shipping. That is the story of the wheel connoisseur.

1. The wheels were damaged in shipping. Whether he paid for professional packing or not, it is your job to package them so they don't get damaged. I saw them in person after they arrived and they WERE damaged. Thats on you. The lips were all scratched up from shipping, not in the condition you described them and what was agreed upon when they were sold.
2. The center caps were pitted from what looks like improper use of a wheel cleaner, most likely an acid. I know because I am a professional detailer on the side. They couldn't be fixed easily, and are discontinued from JP, so he can't even get new ones.
3. He tried to settle things with you before filing a claim with his credit card company, you pretty much said it was his problem and then you stopped answering his calls/PMs/emails. He had no other recourse but to file a claim. When you file a claim with a credit card company, it can only be for the entire amount. He doesn't have the money, the credit card company is holding it until the claim is settled.
As to the rest of the claims, I cannot comment on them, I can only input my interaction in regards to this situation. So why don't you answer this, why didn't you just pay to have the wheels fixed to the condition that you described in your sale thread? Wheels with just a couple of nicks? You were asking $4200 for them, so obviously you were presenting them as wheels in good condition. That is not what was received, why did you not reconcile this before the situation was escalated to this point?
No. I don't want to get in the middle of this but you seem driven by emotion and not logic. Your price included shipping yes? Then technically, you are responsible for the goods until it gets to his dock (delivery place). If it arrives damaged, you are responsible as he cannot make a claim. Only the sender can. So it's in your best interests also, not to send wheels in questionable packing and risk a claim. You have ASSUME the shipping companies will manhandle the goods and pack appropriately.
