Re: Traveling through your fines states this weekend
Are you going to be stopping in Portland on the way up? If not, take I-205 on your way up, it has higher speed limits than I-5 going through the city, and is wider.
With that being said....
When nearing medford, there are a bunch of oak trees in the median of I-5. If you see those trees, slow down. Troopers love hiding in those trees. They've been known to drive 70's Chevy Caprice. Real beat up lookin'.
When you enter Salem, OR... SLOW THE **** down. Oregon state police love to set traps all over the place. Especially on the big curving decline. There are more cops patrolling the freeway in Salem, than any other part of I-5.
When getting on I-205, after a few miles the speed limit drops from 65 to 55. Cops love to hide on the curve right after the speed change, and nail you.
When approaching the Glen Jackson bridge into Washington, the police love to hide on the on-ramp, and nail people gunning it going over the long bridge.
Once in WA, look out for under covers. I've seen vancouver police driving around in decked out WRXs (complete with tints, exhaust, rims, and springs), as well as various trucks desguised at construction vehicles, and Dodge Intrepids.
