Seattle Car Stereo install - recommendation?
Seattle Car Stereo install - recommendation?
i have a G35C w/out the Bose system and plan to upgrade the speakers, power with a jl 300/4 and place an infinity basslink in the trunk.
anyone had a stereo install done near seattle, especially one that required getting a line output convertor placed on the leads out of the head unit (taking apart the center console)?
i'm looking to find somebody that's definitely done a G35C before, and is hopefully recommended.

Re: Seattle Car Stereo install - recommendation?
I have always been happy with the work at Magnolia Hi-Fi, now I think they are Magnolia Audio Video. They tend to do things the right way instead of the hack/slash/drill that somewhere like Circuit City might do. Higher end and more custom work can be done by Innovative Audio in Bellevue. I have had work done by both and was happy with the results. I did e-mail Innovative about an autoloc module for my G, but they were too lame to reply. I am a little annoyed about that, but might still go in person to talk about this minor job. I want to get a module installed to lock my doors when the ignition is turned on and unlocked when off. They installed this $30 box in my CR-V for about $100. It's an easy job, and $100 is a lot, but airbags are a lot more and I don't want to accidently probe a wire and blow one up.

I had magnolia put in mini-disk deck, 6 dash in cd player, amps and 12s in my old accord. They did a reasonable job - but they miss the tiny details for those who are really particular about their work. With some begging, they'll also install equipment you bring them.
I went to Car Toys in downtown Seattle today. Haven't worked with them before. I asked them how much labor would be to replace all my bose speakers and stereo, and he gave a rough quote of $600, provided that I bring in the double din kit. That store has not done a G35 coupe yet.
I visited Innovative Audio a few times. They were actually pretty cool with me. I gave them my card and the salesguy gave me an email when they were working on a g35. I went over there and he showed me all the cars in the garage. Innovative is probably the second best install center in the west coast (behind west coast customs in LA). They are also ultra expensive. They will not install equipment you don't buy from them.
If you want ultra-hi-end that looks good with high customization - than innovative is where you want to go. I haven't upgraded my system yet, but if I do (and I don't do it myself), I'll probably go to innovative.

Re: Seattle Car Stereo install - recommendation?
funny, when i called downtown car toys i had them ask the installers if they'd done a g35 coupe before and they replied yes - though i was never really convinced
innovative is where i'd like to go based on experience and quality of work - but i already have my own equipment i want installed..

It has been a while since this thread has been talked about. I want to find someone in WA to do a double din conversion, that will install aftermarket parts. Looking for someone in Seattle areo or Tri-Cities.
Any ideas.[B]
