Anyone know a good body/paint shop?

I want to paint the roof of my white G35 black. Does anyone know of a body shop that will do a good job and not super pricey. Please let me know.

Thank you!

Also, what do you guys think of the look? It's kind of like the Audi A3, but with the Audi's almost the entire roof is made of tinted glass.

redlude is right. I've seen 'em in up close person, and they're no good. If you want your roof black, get it painted.

If installed correctly they look great. If done incorrectly they turn out pretty crappy. You can really see the seams etc. I have seen several when I used to live in SoCal that were done perfectly and looked excellent as well as a handful that were horrible.
I think its still an option if you want to test out the look before committing to the price and permanence of a paint job. Just my 2 cents on the overlay issue. You can see some samples of the overlay on these links:

I didn't know if you had a coupe or a sedan. Hope that helps.

I like that fact that it's cheaper and can be removed with a big hassle, however this dude is located in Cali...I'm here in WA. Who is going to install it for me?

Good question. You could talk to a local tint shop and see if they want to tackle it for a reasonable price or simply try it yourself and just get some tips and tricks from others who have installed there's here on the forum. I would recommend you PM O HELLO JDM. His name is Ryan and did all my overlay work. Excellent installer so I am sure he could tell you a few tips. Hope that helps.

i don't imagine they're too hard to install, although i've never personally done it. all it takes is 2 maybe 3 people to do it, some sun, and a couple hours. i assume its similar to lamin-x headlight film or window tint film and would be fairly easy... just do it with a couple friends. pay them with beer and pizza (but wait til your finished ).

Haha! Well is there anyone here that would like to help me with the project? If not, I guess I could try and work with a tint shop. I'd much rather network with you guys and buy you some beers! Let me know and I'll put in the order.

Oh one question I do have for the people that have used these overlays... how does it hold up to the Seattle weather plus, drive through car washes or even hand washing?

Please share, thank you!

Nobody around here, at least on the forums or even in any sightings, has a roof overlay. That's a good thing. cersoft has a black painted roof, and a couple others including myself have considered doint that too.

I can't speak for the roof overlay on durability but mine are made from the same vinyl material as the roof overlay is. I have had my headlight and taillight overlays on for almost 2 years now. Been in 100 degree heat in CA and below 20 degree cold in WA. Lots of hand washes (I never go through automatic ones) and rain storms. They still look as good as the day I got them. Too bad you weren't a little closer toward the east side of the state or I would volunteer to help out.

My boss has had his Audi Q7 and Audi A6 both reconstructed at Autohound in Seattle, WA just off Mercer St and Aurora Ave and they turned out really well. I will be using them the next time somebody damages one of my babies! Their website is autohound.com.

I had the roof of my IP coupe painted black at Capitol Cadillac in Salem, OR. Came out nice. Even people who knew the car before hand ask me if it's got a glass top now. I went with 20% window tint, and told the painter to match it. Total cost was $300 with a 1 year warranty.
