I knew that the cheap tires that came with the car when I bought it (Nexen N5000) would be bad, but I backed out of the driveway and got stuck. Someone had to help push me back out of the road LOL.
I'm going to get a set of winter tires, TireRack has the General Altimax Arctic for a decent price, anyone have any experiance with them? Or should I shell out the extra $$$ for a "performance" winter tire like the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3?

in states that are more equipped for winter I think you can get away with simply putting on some winter tires.
In WA state.........you need a dozer. Cuz we don't get our roads plowed, sprayed or anything.
I even got stuck on a 4x4 truck today trying to pull out another 4x4 truck. Roads are like glass once the snow is all compact. And there is no plow in sight and probably not gonna see one for few days.
If we get some kind of serious snow here in western WA..........we are FVCKED.

I store the G for the winter. Just bought an ugly ol brown 81 Ford E250 Econoline Cargo Van for $250 bucks cash last week! HAHAHA Perfect timing too. The day after I got it all licensed and registered the snow starting coming. If I get a year out of it great, but so far its been doing better than I ever expected on the roads. I couldn't be happier, just wish the heater worked better. I am calling her the Rhino Wagon
