Goodbye VQ world!

Later everyone!

The past three years have been fun, although in the past year my interest in the G waned with having a lot more fun in the STi, not to mention getting involved in racing (autoX).

The G always was my "nice" car/weekend car anyway, but even this summer has not been driven too much. I've taken good care of her, and hope to fetch high price to a suitable home.

The experience I have learned over the past three years is unbelievable. Going from not knowing anything about cars originally to doing exterior, interior, and motor work myself has been enlightening, entertaining, and downright fun! I will most likely retain all this VQ knowledge forever... who knows, somewhere down the road perhaps I will get into another VQ.

However, for now, the VQ and G platform just isn't doing it for me. I have been "cursed" by getting involved in autocross (in the STi), and more recently finally FORCED myself to grab the keys to a friend's car to "see what the big deal was". The car in question, of course, was my #2 most hated car on the street: The Miata. (#1 hated car = pt cruiser ). Anyways, they are all over the racing scene so I had to see what the big deal was. I couldn't believe it.... I was putting down similar times on my first runs as the STi having never driven a miata before. I'm not even that great of a driver yet, lol. The point was, it made the STi feel as much of a pig as the STi made the G35 feel, haha. Plus-- driving around with the top off was just... youthful and fun!

So, I went out and bought this as my new summer/weekend car, and will be selling the G. (Would NEVER buy a miata, )

Thanks for all the good times, guys! I will still troll the forums every now and then

The red is a little intense because I took that pic with my camera phone on a bright day and it messed up the contrast (iphone camera isn't the best).

But yes, going from a LR G to this Red Elise... I guess I love red? Haha. It's funny how different the reds look when the cars are next to each other. I'll throw up another pic later.

And, gmotion04, you would normally be correct in your response, but in my particular case you are mistaken The car has a different engine in it. 1.8L VVC Rover.

Sad to see you go, but looks like you have a great replacement there! Let me know if you need any help finding the fog light switch on this new one too. Take care bro.
