Looking for some advice on local shops that can rebuild or replace my 03 G Sedan. Have gotten one estimate that was more than my car.

I need this as well. Had my engine start knocking super loud yesterday. Took it into the shop and they said only 1 qt was in there (oil light never went on and I had topped it off 3 weeks prior). 62k miles on a 04 6MT.

Got quoted $7560 incl parts and labor for a 80k mile used engine. That seems steep to me.

Has anyone else had to do this?

 

Another victim of Oil consumption... You can get a stock engine for $1500 without even trying to find a deal, another $2000 or so to install it, NO WHERE near $7500 for an OEM replacement. If you want to step it up a little I've got a high compression built VQ all ready to go (cosworth 11:1 pistons, etc)

 

That is rediculous, buy a used motor and pay a shop to do it. I would do it for ~1k but I am in school and have no time
